Family Guy is an animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane, which first premiered in 1999. The show follows the adventures of the dysfunctional Griffin family, who live in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island. The family consists of bumbling father Peter, stay-at-home mom Lois, bullied daughter Meg, awkward son Chris, and diabolical infant Stewie. They are also joined by their anthropomorphic pet dog, Brian. The humor of the show is often displayed through metafictional cutaway gags that lampoon American culture. Peter is a well-intentioned but clumsy blue-collar worker, while Lois is a member of an affluent family and a piano teacher.
