Despite her tough exterior, Helga sometimes shows love and concern for her sister and even does a heroic act to save Olga from a bad engagement. She has specific dislikes and allergies, including a hatred of corn and a strawberry allergy that gives her hives. In The Jungle Movie, it is revealed that Helga has an extensive video collection of Arnold and plays a crucial role in helping the class win a contest to go search for Arnold's parents. After a series of events, it becomes clear that Helga's feelings for Arnold are mutual, and they share a romantic moment at the end of the movie.
