Jimmy Pesto Sr., also known as Jimmy Pesto, is the owner of a popular Italian restaurant called "Jimmy Pesto's Pizzeria" across the street from "Bob's Burgers", where Bob Belcher works. Despite being of eastern European descent with the last name Poplopovich, he uses the Italian-sounding surname Pesto to make his restaurant more appealing. He is the father of three children, including Jimmy Pesto Jr., and has a longstanding rivalry with Bob, often bordering on stalking and occasional violence. Despite their feud, their families get along well, and neither of their businesses actually poses a risk to the other. There are numerous instances in the show where Jimmy tries to outdo Bob, such as serving burgers in his pizzeria, only to be met with failure and disappointment. In one episode, it is revealed that he is divorced and living in a lonely bachelor-type apartment, suggesting that he has no real friends. Even the assistant at the pizzeria enlists Bob to bring him pain medication, knowing that while Bob may dislike Jimmy, he is a good person who will help out someone in need. Despite his perceived arrogance and desperation to compete with Bob, it is evident that Jimmy struggles with personal and professional issues. He is portrayed with dark brown hair worn in a pompadour style.
