About Anna
Anna is a main character in Over the Garden Wall and the daughter of The Woodsman. Although she is mentioned often throughout the series, she is not actually seen until the final episode. In the comic book miniseries, her name is revealed to be "Anna". Prior to the events of the show, Anna disappeared after being lured away by The Beast and into the forest, while The Beast still had possession of the Dark Lantern. It is unclear how The Woodsman came to possess the lantern, but he fought The Beast for it, believing that Anna's spirit was inside. He kept the flame lit using oil from the Edelwood trees created by The Beast's victims, unaware of their origins. At the end of the series, The Woodsman extinguishes the flame in the Dark Lantern, and Anna returns to their home, holding a lit candle and crying after being hidden by The Beast.
