About Dwayne

In a special feature on the season four DVD, Loren Bouchard revealed that Dwayne was not originally planned as a character. Instead, he was created when Brendon Small played a heavy metal version of the Home Movies theme song, inspiring the creation of a character centered around heavy metal. Dwayne is the leader of his band, Scäb, and is known for his mumbling speech and exceptional guitar talent at only 15 years old. He often prefers to communicate through his music rather than words. Additionally, he creates music for Brendon's movies and occasionally acts in them, but he also comes up with his own movie ideas that Brendon is hesitant to pursue. In one episode, Dwayne wrote and starred in a rock opera based on Kafka's The Metamorphosis, earning praise from his peers. Both his voice and guitar playing are performed by Brendon Small.
