About Erik Robbins

Erik Robbins is a single dad who works as a real estate agent. Voiced by Jonathan Katz, he is the father of Melissa and is known for his witty personality and sometimes making inappropriate jokes. Despite being a friend of Paula's and displaying signs of being attracted to her, he is also one of McGuirk's few close friends, helping him find an apartment and taking him to his journal-writing class. He reveals that his ex-wife ran away with another man, leaving him to raise Melissa on his own. In the fourth season episode "Curses," Melissa moves out when Erik tries to start dating again. Known for his sarcastic sense of humor, he often embarrasses Melissa with his comments, though she also finds some of them funny. He's also been known to buy wine coolers for the local teenagers, rationalizing that they'll be buying it themselves in a few years.
