Throughout the series, Pacifica has a redemption arc, befriending Mabel, teaming up with the Pines family to defeat Bill, and becoming good friends with them by the end of the series. Her name is a pun on Pacific Northwest, reflecting the Oregon setting of Gravity Falls. In the graphic novel "Gravity Falls: Lost Legends," it is revealed that Pacifica's mother instilled in her the belief that appearance is important, leading her to believe she must be beautiful to be accepted.
